Meet the Staff

Adrian Jones, Camp Director since 2023

Meet the new director: Pastor Adrian Jones, the Newest Member of the Maritime Conference. Adrian was born and raised in Ontario. He developed his heart for camp ministry during his 5 summers working at Camp Frenda. His goals for camp ministry, and for life in general, is for people to have an encounter with Jesus. “It’s time for this world to see evidence of genuine Christianity.”

Pugwash Has a New Camp Ranger!

The Maritime Conference is happy to announce that Stoy Handcock will be the new Camp Ranger at Pugwash. Stoy was born in Breckenridge, MN and grew up with a strong Adventist background. His father was a pastor, and his mother was a church school teacher, giving him a good foundation to be involved with church. Stoy has lived in the Dakotas, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, and Texas. At one point his parents owned their own moving truck.
In 1997 he made a move to Lancaster, MA where he met his wife Lois of 22 years. Since his move to Massachusetts, Stoy has managed maintenance departments of several long-term care facilities and hospitals. He has managed the day-to-day operations of those facilities doing everything from routine maintenance to budgets, and construction of large-scale capital projects. He has worked with a wide variety of individuals which developed his ability to adapt to most circumstances.
While living in Massachusetts he also had the privilege of serving his church through the finance committee and the building and maintenance committee.
In March of 2020, Stoy and Lois moved to Maine. There, Stoy took on the role as executive director of facilities operations and construction for a healthcare system. Lois was able to attain her dream job, to be the stay- at- home wife that she always wanted to be. (She likes the term domestic engineer).
During their first few years together, Stoy and Lois enjoyed hiking and camping, especially in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Over time, when life and work responsibilities permitted, the camping trips were replaced with other travel experiences, Switzerland, Iceland, and Norway to name a few. Stoy has also kept a snowmobile for the few times when proper snow conditions coincided with his free time.
Lois grew up in the Pugwash area, so Stoy is no stranger to Pugwash. Over the past 22+ years he has made numerous trips to the area and enjoyed attending the Pugwash SDA Church. We are delighted that they decided to join the Maritime Conference team and we want to give Stoy and Lois a very warm welcome. They will be arriving early in the new year at which time Stoy will take up his new position.
