Summer staff applications are now open

Your employment at Camp Pugwash is first and foremost a Ministry. Your primary job description is to model Christ. And the best way to model Christ is through the relationships you build with the campers. The programs conducted each week are to be tools to facilitate the relationships you will build. Let’s not forget that programs don ’t change lives. People change lives.

BASIC QUALITIES for all staff are evaluated by these foundational qualifications. Specific requirements for individual jobs build upon and include these.

1. Personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
2. Loyalty to the beliefs, standards, and purposes of the Camp.
3. Acceptance of the distinctive purposes and approaches of Christ-centered camping.
4. Agreement with the unique emphasis and policies of the Camp and its appointed leaders.
5. Love for people and a concern to minister to them in the name and spirit of Christ.
6. A willingness to work with others in a spirit of mutual ministry and under a supervisor to achieve common goals.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Boys’ & Girls’ Directors

Responsible for the total well-being of each camper assigned – health, safety, and mental, social and emotional integrity.
2. Minister to the spiritual development of these campers – that each may know Christ as Saviour and grow in every area of living unto Him.

Worship Director

1. Morning and Evening Worships, Sabbath Program.
2. First day introduction activities.

Activities Director

To provide and organize adequate activities for fun time each day (except Sabbath)—softball,
Frisbee, lawn darts, volleyball, horseshoes, and tetherball—to name a few.
2. See that all equipment is in good repair and stored after fun time.
3. Supervise activities after campers ’camp check duties are finished.

Cabin leader

1. Responsible for the total well-being of each camper assigned to your cabin – health, safety and mental, social and emotional integrity.
2. Minister to the spiritual development of these campers – that each may know Christ as Saviour and grow in every area of living unto Him.

Waterfront Director

1. Director should be 19 years of age or older.
2. Director should have the following training:
a. Have current NLS certification; Beachfront, if possible.

Food Service Director

1. Camp director for menu preparation and food quality.
2. Camp director for purchasing and budget preparation.
